Since 1990, each issue of Blackburn Beginnings has made note of the number of descendants confirmed and documented at the time of publication of that issue. At the time of the October 6, 2024 website updates, our family tree includes 219,506 direct descendants of the immigrant ancestor, John Blackburn (born c. 1675), and his wives – Mary Courtney and Rachel Morton. Here’s a little history of our growth, which really stems from persistent and measured research rather than a particularly high birth rate.
