I built this page as an aid in researching my ancestor Johan Peter Harbaugh born
1710 in Palatine, Germany.
Johan Peter immigrated to America on the ship Snow Molly from Rotterdam on 26
Oct 1741. Jon Peter was originally from Jeckenbach, Oberamt Meisenheim, Duchy of
Zweibrucken, Germany. He settled in Berks County, PA. Some of his descendants used
variations of the last name. Known variations include Herbach and Herbeck. John Peter had
at least two sons. One son is known to have had several children and lived around Reading,
PA. Other descendants settled in Iowa while still other descendants moved to the Maryland
area. The Harbaugh line is well documented and includes thousands of people.This line is
fortunate to have at least one published book on it. Harbaugh History 1947 by Cora & J.L.Cooprider.
