Our Growing Tree

Since 1990, each issue of Blackburn Beginnings has made note of the number of descendants confirmed and documented at the time of publication of that issue. At the time of the publication of the June 2017 issue of Blackburn Beginnings, our family tree includes 164,469 direct descendants of the immigrant ancestor, John Blackburn, and his wives – Mary Courtney and Rachel Morton. Here’s a little history of our growth, which really stems from persistent and measured research rather than a particularly high birth rate. The younger generations still remain underrepresented on our family tree. Have you updated your branch of the tree?
